We have been getting all those last minute things done and provisioning for the trip. Don & Celeste, our crew and good friends (Don was also our sailing instructor in San Diego) fly in today. Peggy is at the La Cruz Port Captain right now checking out of La Cruz. Tomorrow we will go to Puerto Vallarta to check out of the country and get our ‘Zarpe’ showing that we have legally left and done everything required.
Friday morning we should be heading out of La Cruz, leaving Banderas Bay and Mexico! Next stop will be the Marquesas Islands, part of French Polynesia, about 3000 nautical miles away. It should take us 17 to 23 days, depending on the winds. We have provisions for much longer so we should be in good shape.
While on the passage, we won’t have internet or cell phone coverage. We do have an IridiumGo! satellite phone system that will also be sending out our location several times a day. You can track our progress here:

The tracker will also show occasional messages from us as we make progress.
We feel ready and very excited to be starting the journey!
