Home for Thanksgiving

After two days in La Cruz, it was time to fly home for Thanksgiving. We had been planning to go to Vegas to meet Peggy’s brother & his wife and see a Celine Dione concert but Covid killed that plan. On Nov 19 I flew to the SF Bay Area to see my son, Bryan, and my old friends from UC Berkeley.

My Cal friends

I have a group of college friends that have been getting together every year, the night before the Cal / Stanford football game (“The Big Game” to Cal and Stanford alums). It was great to see them after having canceled last year due to Covid.

My favorite Hiking Group at Russian Ridge

The next day I reconnected with my favorite Bay Area hiking group on a beautiful 11 mile walk at Russian Ridge in the Santa Cruz mountains. I have been on more than 50 hikes with these people and it was so nice to see them again!

The next day I spent with my son, Bryan. We had a good hike at Shoreline park and a lunch on the lawn at Shoreline Lake. It’s always great to see him!

Back in San Diego, we put on a Thanksgiving Buffet for Peggy’s family at her mom’s house. Great food and a wonderful time seeing everybody!

The week after Thanksgiving, I flew back to Mexico to work on the boat. Peggy stayed in San Diego to do things with her mom and work at the VA.
