Fish tacos in Agua Verde

We had a downwind sail with wind 12 to 20 knots. Most of the time we were wing-on-wing. Really pleasant. There is something about sailing downwind that I really like. The motion of the swells slowly catching you, lifting the boat and then after a brief acceleration as you ‘surf’ down the wave, you settle gently into the trough and wait for the next one. In storm conditions you may surf so fast down huge swells that you bury the bows into the trough and broach (turn sideways) which can be dangerous. But today, it was just right and a very nice ride.

Agua Verde has two small restaurants, a small tienda (store), a church, school, and a clinic. Maybe 15 homes and a few dirt roads.

The Church

We ate at both restaurants over the two days we were there. I had fish tacos at both and Peggy had good vegan dishes.

We also had a good time snorkeling in the bay.

I think this is a Brown Spotted Cucumber
I had not seen this type of seastar before. It is a ‘Chocolate Chip Star’ according to my book!
Coral can have vibrant colors. This is some type of Gorgonian.
Ferns like feathers waving in the current – but be careful. Touching the Stinging Hydroid can be quite painful!
Lots of fish!
