Easter in Chamela

We left Puerto Vallarta Saturday morning and motored all day because there was very little wind and it was coming right at us. We arrived in Ipala about 4pm, spent the night on anchor and woke up Easter morning to a beautiful sunrise. We left by 7am and motored in the morning but had a great sail in the afternoon when the wind picked up and shifted from southerly to more westerly. We saw several humpback whales and quite a few sea turtles.

By 5pm we were anchored just off Isla Cocinas, near the town of Chamela.

Sun setting between Isla Cocinas (left) and Isla Pajarera.

Tomorrow we will check out the snorkeling and maybe go for a hike.
