We sailed from Isla San Francsico to San Evaristo, an easy sail of about 10 miles. The bay is well protected from winds from the south and west which is what we expect here this time of year. There is a little town and we wanted to go back to a restaurant we had been to a couple years earlier when we were with Pat and Steve on Ahelani. So we dinghy’d in and found ‘Lupe Sierra and Maggie May’ but it was closed. People told us that it had been open the previous week and the owners would be back in a day or two.. or three… So no fish tacos for me that night! 🙁
We went to the small tienda and found that they had no fresh produce but were expecting a truck at 8:30am the next day. OK, we can come back tomorrow for that. We bought some internet wifi (no cell coverage) and did email for a while. We made friends with the young boys (ages 3 and 4) and I had fun kicking a soccer ball with them for a while until they got bored.
We returned the next morning – no truck. It ‘had a problem’ and was expected later that day. There was nothing we absolutely needed so, after some more soccer with the kids, we gave them some blank notebooks, crayons and pencils and went back to the boat. Unfortunately, I forgot to take any photos.
