A New Favorite Place – Thankyou Doug & Anna!

Just before leaving La Paz, our friends Doug & Anna on Karuna, told us about Mezteno, one of their favorite places. It is 22 miles from La Paz, on the northwestern part of Isla Espiritu Santu, just south of Caleta Partida. We left La Paz about noon to catch the outflowing tide and hoping for more wind in the afternoon.

We finally got our insurance updated and we are heading north tomorrow. Here is what happened:We have insurance that is good in the US from Point Conception (So Cal, US) to the Mexican border, and the “Pacific waters of Mexico,” down to Acupulco. But during ‘Hurricane Season’ (June 15 to October 15) we need to be north of 27 degrees

We left Los Muertos about 8am after a rolly night. No wind at all for the first few hours so we motored up the San Lorenzo Channel in very calm seas.
