We left Los Muertos about 8am after a rolly night. No wind at all for the first few hours so we motored up the San Lorenzo Channel in very calm seas. Turning west to go through the channel between Isla Espiritu Santo and the La Paz peninsula, there was enough wind to motor sail with the jib adding a knot or two of speed. After getting through this channel, in a few miles we entered the 4.5 mile narrow, but well marked, La Paz channel and headed to Marina de La Paz. We were surprised to find that they had no room for us! No problem, we anchored near the marina entrance.
That night we had our friends Doug & Anna from SV Karuna over for dinner. It was great to see them again. They had been in Sun Harbor Marina with us in San Diego and came down to Mexico about 2 months after we did. We caught up on travels, traded tips on locations and just had a great time! 🙂
We will be here for a few days, getting things straightened out with our insurance and provisioning for the next leg of the journey, exploring while heading north.
